TEXERE's Art-Deco-Project

Harm Harms, Netherlands

I was inspired by a scarf which was originally designed for the summer collection of fashion designer Ines Raspoort. I chose to create a weave pattern to fit with the "square" theme that was imposed. The pattern consisting of wool tops, chiffon strips and yarns is nuno-felted in an open and therefore light and flexible structure at both ends of the wide chiffon scarf. The transparency of the chiffon fabric changes when the fabric is draped differently. This challenges the wearer to be creative, a property which I think is essential to the scarf.
